Firefighterforhalloween

Don't you love when you write an entire post and when you go to hit publish, it goes blank?? GRRRR

For months Carson has insisted that he be a firefighter. When you ask him what he wanted to be his reponse was "firefighterforhalloween" all one word. I didn't realize that he seriously thinks this is all one word until the other day when he was talking he said it as all one word. it's the cutest thing in the world! when you ask him today what he was for halloween he says "firefighterforhalloween" love it!

My mom came over early to give Carson some halloween presents. My dad had to work...bummer! Carson was very disappointed papa wasn't there :( My mom was wearing the cutest headband that actually looked like part of her hair. This is what Carson would look like if he was a girl! :)

Then we met Nikki, Sam and Bella...Bella was a hot dog and she was not loving it! she sure was cute though!

Carson walked the entire hour and a half to all the houses to trick or treat. He would walk right up and stick out his little arm with the pumpkin hanging on it and wait for his candy. No shyness in that boy! I've mentioned before that he could live outside if i let him...he was so happy to be outside, walking and running around for that long. However, FINALLY after almost two hours, he wanted my mom to hold him. Luckily, we were at the end of our route. I'm pretty sure that he got two full pumpkins full of candy because he was the cutest firefighter on the block! He was so adament this year abuot what he wanted to be...i can't wait to see what he is going to be next year!

Carson Funnies

couple things i want to document that has made us fall over in laughter. The little man is just to funny these days...

Carson knows four nursery rhymes by heart: Jack and Jill (his fave and happens to be what this little story is about) Baah Baah Black Sheep, Little Miss Muffet and Hey Diddle Diddle.

His little cousin Addi fell the other day and i was telling Carson about it.
This is our conversation:
Me: Carson...Addi got hurt and had to go to the hospital to see the doctor like you did. She fell down...
Carson: and broke her crown??
Hilarious!

There is a country song out by Zac Brown. Carson loves country music and we watch videos on tv sometimes and this happens to be a frequent one. The lyrics go "I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand...."
This morning i start singing it...(of course, i don't say "ass" and i stop there and i've never sang this song out loud before...ever)
Me: I got my toes in the water...
Carson: Ass in the sand...

I about fell over laughing.

Rambo!

Never a dull moment! Sometimes weekend plans just don't turn out the way you hoped :) We were supposed to go ona 4 wheeling trip with friends last weekend but at the last minute, i found out that my parents could not watch Carson for us so we opted not to go. It wouldn't of worked out anyway because that same night, as i tell carson to give daddy a kiss goodnight and on our way to bed...i'm inthe kitchen andi hear a blood curdling scream! daniel comes running in thekitchen with carson in his arms and blood pouring, literally pouring out of his eye. it made me sick to my stomach...i was scared to look. I had a huge sigh of relief when i saw it was just a cut under his eye...but it was so close to his eye, i haved thanked the lord many times for it being under his eye. We got the bleeding to stop and waited about a half hour before we left for the hospital but i tell you...this little man is a trooper!!! He wanted to keep playing while i chased him around the living room wiping his face from the cut still bleeding! And once we got to the ER, he was such a big boy. They only had to glue it which was a huge relief. Cardinal Glennon is the best!!! Carson had many visitors through the weekend and got "get well" gifts too! haha spoiled much?? :)

I have to remind myself that these things will happen. I beat myself up about it because it could of been prevented...he walked into the living room to kiss daddy and tripped on....my yoga mat. ugh. and then hit his face on the juice cup he was carrying. double ugh. i was sick about it...but accidents happen and i've learned that you can't be to careful...even with a rolled up yoga mat.

Here is the damage...our little rambo :) the cutest is when you ask him to do "strong boy" with muscles showing and this hat on :) so cute.

Vacation!!

Carson and i had a blast! He was a little scared of the ocean at first but he warmed up to it! When he was one...he had no problem what so ever with the ocean but now he's older, he is more aware and can be scared of things...they are fearless when they are that young. It was so much more fun this year because he was able to run around the pool and in the sand. i can't wait to go again next year. This is Carson and Sam, my sisters fiance. They were best buds by the end of the trip!! I love this pic! This is my dad, aka...Papa! Carson absolutely loves him!!!! My dad is the best!





This was by far...hands down...without a doubt his favorite thing to do! Play with the water hose! People would walk up from the beach and he would be the one to rinse off their sandy legs. He also loved squirting his cousin addi. It was hilarious!

Birthday Party!!

Carson is turning 2 next tuesday and i'm so excited! This party will be tractor themed b/c the boy is obsessed with tractors, motorcycles, airplanes, lawnmowers...he is 100% boy and i love it!! These are his invites...i did them on my computer and just printed them off. Simple and best of all...free!

We're still deciding on the menu but i want to keep it simple...hubs wants to grill but i'm thinking sandwiches and finger foods! i'm making my favorite chocolate sheet cake into cupcakes with green icing and tractor picks. Of course, i'll post pictures next week! He's going to have so much fun!

Croup

So, Carson woke up hysterical last night at 1 AM. He was gasping for air and had this cough that sounded like a seal. It was awful. He wouldn't stop crying. Once he did, he threw up and then was gasping for air. I had no idea what the hell was going on. I had heard of a "croupy cough" but i didn't know that it meant they couldn't breathe! After five minutes and not knowing what to do, i called 911 asking for advice and they told me to take him straight to the ER. I don't remember one minute of that car ride except for daniel driving like a maniac and carson saying once "Woah, dada" when he hit a big bump in the road. When we got there, they were waiting for us and gave him oxygen and steroids and it opened his throat back up and he was fine. Just like that. Fine.
The scariest thing i have ever gone through. I really thought he was going to stop breathing. The scariest part was that he had absolutely NO symptoms. NONE! No fever, cough..nothing! Last night he had dinner, played outside...a normal night. That is why i was so panicked because there was nothing wrong! I'm still confused what happened but it's a upper respiratory virus that makes his throat and bronchial passages swollen! Today he has barely coughed but gets short of breath. I'm scared for tonight but the docs prepared me with what to do. Close the door in the bathroom, turn the shower on full hot water and sit in steam for half an hour then immediately after the steam, put his head in the freezer. Simple advice for something so darn scary! Please pray tonight he sleeps ok and this will pass! My poor baby!

My momma's day!

What a nice day! :) My second mommy's day...and look what my little one made me....


He filled it with dirt and put the stickers on by himself! He is the reason i can celebrate this day and my heart could just burst with how much i love him!

Yard sale find II

This is the riding car i was talking about....although, this is what he would rather do than ride in it.

I have a special project coming up! i've been working on it since sunday...i'm so excited! it's a great craft project! stay tuned!

Yard Sales-they are the way to go!!

So, i'm all about a deal...but i've become a new lover of thrift stores and yard sales! The last couple of months i haven't even thought of buying from brand name stores. I find the hunt way to exciting at thrift stores to go back to buying from the chain stores! i've found some amazing things for my home at thrift stores, antique stores and yes...goodwill! Don't get me wrong..i love homegoods, target, pier 1 and all those stores still but i just find it so exciting to find a lamp or shelf or something of that nature ina thrift store for a much lower price!

so...for yard sales...i've been looking for a month for some outdoor toys for Carson and i did not want to spend a ton on them seeing how fast he outgrows things. Now that the weather is nicer, all he wants to do it be outside! or as he says it..."Siiiiiiiide" as he's pointing and leaning on the door. :) I went yardsaling last saturday morning and knew what i was looking for...and i hit a jackpot! I found a car that has a swing open door, fake radio, steering wheel and he can push around with his feet for $3!!!!!!!! Not only that...look at this....you won't believe what i paid! The same family was selling this....

$5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, $5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a two seater motorized jeep...great condition and all it needs is a new battery! granted, a battery will cost me about $30 but it's soooo worth it for $5!!!!!!! It has a stick shift, radio, horn and a pedal for his feet. i can't wait til he can drive it. for now, his legs aren't long enough to reach the pedal but he just loves sitting in it. These pictures of him and the girls are priceless. His hair is a little out of control at times but honest, the wind was crazy that day...hence the fro :)

boy...i need to post some recipes! we haven't done much fun cooking lately (your typical spaghetti, hamburgers, salads etc...) we've out "Siiiiide" :) and on the grill! but nikki's graduation party is coming up so ill post everything we make!

Our Easter Weekend

What a great weekend! busy and hectic but great!! We loved doing all these fun things with Carson! We spent the day at Eckert's and it was great weather for it, thank goodness! We couldn't of asked for a better day considering it was probably the nicest day in weeks! Here are some pics of his day! He got to....

He amazes me more and more every day!

Wild Man!

My little man got his hair cut...and i mean cut. I don't know if it's the cut but it's given him a little pep in his step :) He thought he was big stuff when we (i mean daniel...i was to chicken to cut it) were done cutting it. I love his hair long...the boy has had a ton of hair since the day he was born. The times he has gotten it cut, i've only let them trim it. Daniel stepped in and said he wanted to cut it because it was getting "out of control" ha! Whenever we go out, the things people comment on most is his hair and his adorable cheeks. Now his hair is gone...but it's hair and his grows fast so i know it will grow back soon. It's just if daniel lets me let it get "out of control" again :)

Big Boy Room

I love Target! I got a couple things at their home event...50% off. I got a adorable little blue vase for my bedside table as well as the cutest apron ever! I paid a total of $8 for both of those. BUT...my best purchase was by far the Bear set for carson's big boy room! I have bee eyeing this set since he was born because i thought it was so adorable and now that he's older it works perfectlybecause he loves bears! It NEVER goes on sale and while i was there over the weekend, it was! I got the quilt for $20 (regularly $85) and after looking at three different targets, i found the bear paw sheet set for $6 (regularly $26)! I loooove a "deal"! Anyway, i have big plans for his room and i am so excited! It won't be for a little while because we're renovating his room so for now i'll just showyou the adorable quilt and sheets!

Snow day!!

We had a pretty big snow storm this week and it kept me home from work one day. This was Carson's first encounter with snow and he was in love! His mouth hung open the whole time, just in awe of all the white stuff on the ground. We pulled him around on the sled for a while until his little nose felt like an icicle! it was so fun!!

After sledding, he didn't want to go inside! Boy, he was mad! Doesn't he look like Randy from The Christmas Story?! HA!

Spo Bob!

Carson loves spongebob or as he says it...Spo Bob. :) So, he's in the kitchen with me playing with the pots and pans and i'm doing some dishes. The tv is playing in the living room. Personally, i can't hear the tv but apparently carson can because all of a sudden he stops playing and goes "oh, man" and runs in the living room, looks at the tv and starts shaking his butt and humming to the theme song of spongebob! ha! Then after the song is over, he comes back in the kitchen and continues playing with the pots and pans. haha He never watches the cartoon, he just likes the song! It's hilarious to see!

My Little Hercules!

Can i brag a bit about my child?? I figure this is my blog...so, i can do what i want,right?? :) I have never been one to brag...about anything.. but when it comes to your kids...you have to! When i was pregnant, I always had a serious gut feeling that Carson was going to be a boy. When we had the 3-D ultrasounds done, it was confirmed even though we didn't see the "goods" :) The definition of the muscles in his arms and back were a dead give away that he had to be a boy. Otherwise, we would of had one hell of a muscular girl! I sware...it was like nothing i have ever seen before. The little guy was ripped and he wasn't even born yet! Anyway, i nicknamed him "Hercules" for the rest of my pregnancy. When i finally delivered him and Daniel said the words "It's a Boy!" it was no shock to me! I was 100% without a doubt positive that he was a boy....and he is ALL boy to this day! This morning, I was watching him run around the house in his diaper, throwing a nurf football around and it brought me back to seeing his muscular little body on the 3-D ultrasound. It brought tears to my eyes because it seemed like yesterday i was pregnant with him and now he's exactly 18 months old. Time really does fly. Being an athlete myself, i would love to see Carson one as well! A baseball player (i hope...i see him being a catcher!) football player (his daddy hopes!) basketball, soccer, golf, rugby...something! And if he's not...i am 100% ok with that! But darnit, we're going to at least try to get him to use those muscles of his in a sport somehow!! ;) My parents got me into sports when i was a kid and that was the life i knew. I loved it! I loved the competition, the feeling of winning and accomplishment and with my parents at my side, they always made me feel like i was the best at whatever sport i played.. I want to give that same feeling to Carson. So, i snapped a couple pictures of him playing...not sure if you can tell how broad his shoulders are or the muscle definition in his back but just look at the bicep on his arm in the one picture of him dumping out his blocks. That's my little hercules and i am so proud!

Chipmunk Cheeks!

Carson was trying to see how many oyster crackers he could fit into his mouth at once. He just kept piling them in until he looked like........this!! oh, thank god i had my camera nearby!
